yakuza 6

As we get ever closer to the eventual release of Yakuza 6, we’re getting quite a bit more information about the game. Back in September we found out the developers have made it so the PS4 version of the game isn’t going to have loading screens, even if the PS3 version still will.

Earlier this week, a new video surfaced that gives us a better look inside all the fun and interesting things players can do with the characters when they aren’t going on specific missions around the game world. The new video shows off things like the ability to sample some of the cuisine at local restaurants as well as playing in a video arcade.

There is also working out in the gym and heading to your character’s favorite Karaok. Check out the video below, which has quite a bit of gameplay scenes interspersed throughout the presentation. Yakuza 6 is due to launch on the PS4 on December 8 in Japan.

Yakuza 6 Gets A Staggering 2 Hours Of Footage On PS4 Pro

Yakuza6-8

Yakuza 6 isn’t much of a looker, but it manages to somehow look absolutely fantastic on the PlayStation 4 Pro, for which it will be enhanced, as these two hours of gameplay footage for it can attest to.The footage comes from the Japanese demo of the game being played on a Pro, uploaded by YouTube user motch51 , and it shows us the first half of chapter one, with a lot of side activities thrown into the mix and dramatically adding to the play time, too.

It’s actually surprising how good the game looks- I suppose it is also helped by not being bound by the constraints of the PS3, PSP, or PS Vita, which all Yakuza games so far have been (yes, this will be the first PS4 exclusive Yakuza game).

Yakuza 6 is due to launch soon exclusively on the PS4, but only in Japan- a release for the rest of the world has not been confirmed yet, but the game will likely be localized a couple of years down the line. By which point, I imagine Japan will be on Yakuza 9 or something.

Top 10 Upcoming Games in December 2016

The year is coming to a close. We’ve seen some high-profile releases over the past few months and though some of them may not have set the sales charts on fire initially, it’s still been a pretty fun year for games. Interestingly, December won’t be ending things on a somber note. There are still some extremely high profile games, especially when it comes to exclusives, to get lost in. Let’s take a look at the top 10 upcoming games in December.

The Dwarves

The Dwarves

KING Art’s crowd-funded tactical RPG The Dwarves arrives on December 1st and along with some much needed fantasy role-playing goodness, we’ve got a huge variety of weapons, pitched battles and a swathe of environments to explore. It looks good but will it play good, especially on consoles? Stay tuned when it’s out in the coming days and don’t worry – it’s coming to PC, Linux and Mac OS as well.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier – Episode 1

the walking dead season 3

Clementine is back and has kept that hair short. Also, she’s all grown up and traveling with the relatively new Javier. What’s going on and what has Clementine been up to? All we know is that society is slowly starting to rebuild itself among the undead ruins. Themes of family are once again prominent and the game questions how far you’d go to protect your loved ones. How will it ultimately pan out? We’ll find out when episode 1 premieres on December 20th.

Steep

steep 1

Ubisoft’s final title for the year is the open world extreme sports title Steep. The game is most interesting because along with the ability to ski, snowboard, para-glide and fly with wing-suits, the Alps are completely open for exploration. Players are encouraged to share their accomplishments and feats throughout the game world, use different tricks to rack up points and engage in four different styles of play. Whether it’s exploration, cool tricks or outright self-devastation, Steep is worth checking out on December 2nd.

The Last Guardian

the last guardian

The eagerly awaited action adventure/platformer is finally upon us. The Last Guardian has been in development for almost a decade and for that long, we’ve been wondering about Trico the guardian and the boy. Initial impressions are interesting because they reveal that moments where the boy can latch onto Trico’s tail after risky jumps are very much part of the gameplay. We’ll finally get to experience it ourselves on December 6th for PS4 so buckle up.

Dead Rising 4

dead-rising-4

Zombies? Check. Frank West? Check. Total mayhem with tons of customization, an open world and lots of zombie killing? You know it. Frank West returns to Willamette as another outbreak grips the populace. Thankfully, Frank will have his fair share of weaponry to fight back including elemental weapons, an exo suit and of course, plenty of vehicles that can be tricked out for maximum zombie pain. Dead Rising 4 is out on December 6th for Xbox One and Windows 10.

Space Hulk: Deathwing

space hulk deathwing

Space Marine Terminators vs. Tyranid Genestealers in an all-out battle royale. Who emerges victorious? In Space Hulk Deathwing, it will be you and up to three other players engaging in Left 4 Dead-like skirmishes against the alien freaks. Thankfully, you’ll have four different classes to choose from, wielding swords and shotguns alongside gatling guns. Fun for the whole crew? Stay tuned for its PC release on December 9th to find out.

Super Mario Maker For Nintendo 3DS

Mario Maker

You’ve tortured thousands, perhaps millions, of random strangers with Super Mario Maker on the Wii U. Now you finally have the chance to do it on the go with the Nintendo 3DS. Though some elements have been changed in the transition, Super Mario Maker for the 3DS will still allow you to create your own courses and share them with others. In fact, you can exchange courses through StreetPass if anyone close by is feeling especially masochistic. Super Mario Maker on the 3DS releases on December 2nd in North America and Europe.

Yakuza 6

Yakuza6-8

Kazuma Kiryu is in a bad mood and out to protect the Tojo clan. It also doesn’t help that he wanted to retire from the whole Yakuza business but you can never keep a good mobster down. Yakuza 6 will see players return to the same open world action adventure that characterized previous classics and the world looks better than ever on PS4. Yakuza 6 is out on December 8th for PS4 In Japan and, surprisingly, features working versions of Puyo Puyo and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown with mutliplayer support.

Wild Guns Reloaded

wild-guns-reloaded

You’ve probably never heard of Wild Guns on the NES. While not an all-time epic, this classy little sci-fi shooting gallery from Natsume combined the best aspects of light gun titles with third person shooters. What’s more, it has cowboys. Wild Guns Reloaded seeks to recapture that magic when it arrives on December 13th in Japan for PS4 and will feature four player co-op, more characters, enemies, stages and a lot more to engage in.

Arizona Sunshine

arizona-sunshine

Ah, Arizona. If the overbearing heat doesn’t get you, the undead will in Vertigo Games’ Arizona Sunshine, an upcoming FPS survival horror title for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The objective is pretty simple – survive against an onslaught of the undead and use various weapons to do so – but the addition of VR makes it all the more tense. Arizona Sunshine allows you to freely move around, which is great for all those times a zombie could potentially sneak up on you. Look for its release on December 6th.

Yakuza 6 PS4 Review: Famitsu Show A Lots Of Love For The Open World Action Game

Yakuza 6

This week’s Famitsu review scores are out and this time around, they’ve reviewed quite the eclectic group. The week’s winner is pretty easy to determine, since Yakuza 6 gained scores of 10, 10, 9 and 10. No other game on this week’s list came anywhere close to getting review scores that good.

On the low end scale of things, a Nintendo 3DS game called Gudetama Okawari Ikagassuka got straight 7s. In other words, it wasn’t exactly given bad reviews, but its not nearly as good as some of the others. Two other 3DS games, Puyo Puyo Chronicle and Megami Meguri both received 8’s across the board.

Nintendo Everything reports the scores included Drive Club VR, which had scores of 7, 8, 7 and 9. Banner Saga 2 for the PS4 also had a bit of a range with scores of 8, 7, 7, and 9. Finally another 3DS game known of Militopia received scores of 7, 8, 8, and 8. The big take away from these scores is, it doesn’t appear you can go wrong with Yakuza 6. Now if only Sega releases it in the west.

Yakuza Series Sales Hit 9 Million Worldwide, As Yakuza 6 Ships 500,000 Copies

There’s a reason that Sega continues to make Yakuza games- they’re just very successful for them overall. Even Yakuza 6, which was a significantly diminished debut for the franchise compared to some previous entries, has managed to hit 500,000 shipments across Japan and Asia, according to Sega. The number includes physical and digital copies, both.

In the process, total worldwide shipments for the Yakuza series are now at 9 million worldwide- an impressive number, to be sure, and one that more than justifies the continued investment in the games (you know what else justifies that investment? The fact that Yakuza games are awesome).

Yakuza 6 is available now in Japan, and it is exclusively on the PS4. It will launch in the west over the next year or so- for now, we will be getting Yakuza 0, the prequel to the entire franchise, launching next month, also exclusively on the PS4 (it sounds like the PS3 SKU was cut for the localization).

Final Fantasy 15 Sales Decline Continues As Nintendo 3DS Hardware And Software Rules The Roost In Japan

$

It looks like Nintendo 3DS has the sales charts in Japan completely on lockdown, on the hardware and the software front- the highest selling system in Japan this week was the 3DS, which actually managed to sell more than all other systems put together, and the top three highest selling games of the week were all 3DS games, with 12 out of 20 games in the Top 20 all being 3DS titles.

The highest selling game was Yokai Watch 3: Sukiyaki, which was followed by Pokemon Sun/Moon and Super Mario Maker, both of which, incredibly, saw week on week increases in terms of sales. The PS Vita exclusive new SaGa game came in fourth, while Yakuza 6 and Final Fantasy 15 both continued to see heavy declines this week.

For Sony, it was actually some good news on the hardware front, too- the PS4 may have been outsold by the 3DS, but it still managed to pull in 79,348 units sold, including a small bump for total PS4 Pro systems sold in the country too. Meanwhile, the launch of SaGa seems to have buoyed PS Vita sales as well, with the handheld having come in at 36,214 units sold last week.

It was one of the rare few weeks last week when things generally performed pretty well overall in Japan- even Final Fantasy 15 sales, while declining, held incredibly well, and give some hope that the game may manage to have a long tail, compensating for its weaker start in Japan after all. Here’s hoping.

Yakuza Producer Hinting At ‘New Things And Beginnings’

Yakuza 0 launched this year in the west, finally giving the franchise a taste of the kind of success that it has long enjoyed in Japan; meanwhile, Yakuza 6 launched in Japan, and it is meant to be the final installment of the series- at least, of series hero Kiryu’s story.

So even though we in the west wait for Yakuza 6 to launch here and cap the story off (first we need to get Yakuza Kiwami, the PS4 remake of the original game on the PS2 that kicked things off), in Japan, the developers are already looking ahead to the next thing- the future of the series, a future beyond Kiryu.

“In April, a lot of new things have begun. Today is the beginning kick-off for the studio. We’ll be even stronger. This last month I haven’t been able to check on Twitter because the busiest days of the last few years have been going on. Since so many things are moving that it’s scary, I’ll let you know what’s up some day,” series producer Masayoshi Yokoyama said on Twitter (translation via DualShockers).

What comes beyond Yakuza 6 is unknown- maybe a total series reboot? Sega also discussed the possibility of a Yakuza game on the Nintendo Switch, so maybe it could have something to do with that. For now, we must sit back and have faith.

Yakuza 7 More Information Coming Tomorrow, On May 30

Yakuza finally started to gain some notoriety in the west this year thanks to the exceptional Yakuza 0, which released earlier in the year on PS4. However, in Japan, Yakuza came to an end- or at least, Kiryu’s story did, when Yakuza 6 launched there. Yakuza 6 is inevitably going to come to the west, too, though it will take some time.

Meanwhile, Japan is already looking ahead to the next game in the series- which will be getting more details announced tomorrow. A new stream has been announced for May 30- and while we don’t know what to expect, we can definitely look forward to more discussions about the future of the franchise. We know that Yakuza 7 is apparently already in the works, and we also know that the creators of the franchise have expressed an interest in the Switch.

Whatever is announced tomorrow, we’ll let you know. Stay tuned to GamingBolt.

Yakuza 6 E3 Trailer Sees Kiryu Playing Babysitter

Sega has released a new trailer for its next open world action title Yakuza 6, which sees the Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu, return for a new purpose.

Haruka Sawamura, the daughter of Kiryu’s true love, is caught in an accident while protecting her child Haruto. Naturally, there’s something about Haruto with regards to the identity of his father and it’s up to Kiryu to protect him.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be releasing on PS4 and promises to be the most advanced game in the series till date. Using the new “Dragon Engine” and featuring Onomichi, a new port town in the Hiroshima Prefecture, Yakuza 6 will also see Kamurocho updated to reflect its current state. If you’re in it for the action and brawling then Yakuza 6 will have plenty of that as well.

Yakuza 6 comes to PS4 in North America and Europe in early 2018. What are your thoughts on the latest trailer.

Yakuza 7 Announcement May Come In Two Months

Yakuza 6 released earlier in Japan this year, ending the decade long running saga of Kiryu at last. However, the series itself has not ended- and there is something planned for its future. We know that future Yakuza games have been discussed previously by Sega (including during Nintendo’s Switch unveil event)- now, it seems that an announcement regarding the future of the series may be coming within the next two months.

In a livestream today, series Producer Toshihiro Nagosh teased that he will be announcing the plans for ‘the future’ of the Yakuza series within the next two months. This could, of course, be anything- but given how heavily a new game in the series has been discussed before, I don’t think it’s wrong to suppose that this will be referring to the next major entry in the series.

Meanwhile, if you are new to the franchise, and want to see what the fuss is about, Yakuza 0 released in the west earlier this year, and it is a fantastic game– maybe look into jumping into the franchise with that one.

Yakuza 6 New Trailer Catches You Up With The Story So Far

With the Yakuza series finally having found some traction in the west, thanks to the excellent dual releases of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami this year, all eyes are now on the next big Yakuza release- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which is meant to be a capstone to series protagonist Kiryu’s story (the next Yakuza game has an entirely new protagonist).

If you’ve only played 0 and Kiwami, or if you’re a newcomer looking to jump in with the upcoming game, this new trailer for the title will probably help you find your footing a bit- it basically recounts and recaps the story between Kiwami and 6, so that you have better context for the events in 6, and their larger meaning to the story’s arc.

You can check out the video for yourself below. Yakuza 6 will launch exclusively on the PS4; its western release date will be March 20, 2018, over a year after its Japanese release.

Sega will be releasing the next installment in its cult fan favorite Japanese crime sim action RPG series, Yakuza 6: Th Song of Life, later this year. The release is actually coming up pretty quick now, which is presumably why we are getting so much media for the game.

For instance, take this newest trailer for the title- it shows us how you can create a clan of your own and then use it to claim territory and rule the streets of Kamurocho. This is yet another elaborate minigame that will be added to the series’ already impressive arsenal of minigames and side activities for players to engage in.

You can check out the trailer for yourself below. Yakuza 6 launches worldwide on March 20, exclusively on the PlayStation 4 (except for in Japan, where it actually launched all the way back at the end of 2016). Let us know what you think of the game’s new trailer and feature.

Yakuza 6 – 14 Things You Need To Know Before You Buy

It’s been a long time coming, but the Yakuza series has well and truly found a strong footing with the masses. It’s always been a franchise with a huge following in Japan, but with the incredible Yakuza 0’s launch last year, which was then followed up with Yakuza Kiwami, the series now has the kind of love and adoration from Western audiences it always deserved. And there’s a lot more to come still. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life launches in the West for the PS4 in March, and based on everything that we’ve seen of the game, it looks like a worthy follow up. In this feature, we’re going to take a look at fourteen pieces of information that have got us quite excited to get our hands on Kazuma Kiryu’s next adventure.

THE SETUP

Yakuza 6 is going to be the conclusion to Kiryu’s story, so obviously, we expect it to be a momentous one. While Kiryu recovers from the injuries he sustained in Yakuza 5, he is arrested by the police, and he decides to willingly go to prison, do his time, and then spend time with his adoptive children. When he comes out three years later, though, he finds that his adoptive daughter, Haruka, is in a coma in a hospital, while also having given birth to baby boy. Kiryu decides to travel to Hiroshima to discover just what Haruka was up to while he was in prison for three years.

Yakuza 6 Demo is a Whopping 36GB

Yakuza 6 launches in April, but ahead of that release, Sega will already let you go hands on with the newest entry in the cult hit series, and the last one of Kiryu’s adventures. A demo for the game has now gone up on the PSN Store, which you can download and see what the newest crime action RPG will play like.

That said, if you do decide to give it a go, make sure you have enough room on your hard drive, because this demo is much bigger than a whole lot of actual games on the PS4- it comes in at a whopping 36GB, which, for reference, is more than the file size for such games as Persona 5 or Monster Hunter World.

I have no idea why the demo is that big, but it seems to be a pretty cool trial that apart- you get to play the game’s prologue, and your save will carry over into the final game. Which is pretty awesome. Yakuza 6 launches on PS4 exclusively on April 17.

Yakuza 6 Demo Taken Off PSN Because Players Could Access The Entire Game From It

$
0
0

Remember when I noted that the Yakuza 6 demo is an unusually large 36GB yesterday? As it turns out, there was a reason it was as big as it was- apparently the entire damn game’s files are included in the demo download for some reason. In and of itself, this is a bit excessive, but it would have been fine if players had been unable to access any part of the game beyond the Prologue, which was what was intended.

As it turns out, players were very easily able to, with this free download, access the entire game. Which is- wait, how do you make this mistake? Why even have the full game’s files associated with the demo? What the heck, Sega?

So, yes, as you might expect, Sega has taken down the demo. They say they are looking into the issue, but I wouldn’t expect another demo- the game is due out in just a month and a half, and it’s probably going to be more feasible for Sega to just wait until it is than work on another demo.

Yakuza 6 Free Copies Revoked by Sony

$

0

So, you might remember that the Yakuza 6 demo on PSN ended up giving a lot of players access to the full game, which led to Sega taking the entire game down just hours after putting it up first. Now, Sony has gone ahead and revoked the licenses to the full game that were associated with those players’ accounts, rendering the game unplayable for them (at least, until they get the full, final game once it launches).

What this means is, you can no longer play your free copy of the game that you may have obtained via the demo. However, while that might be a bummer to a lot of players who were excited at the prospect of playing the game early, the good news is that Sony will not be penalizing any of the accounts who got access to the game early this way. Sega has assured players that there will be no problems- and also that their save data, even if they had the full game, will still carry over to the final game release.

Yakuza 6 launches on PS4 exclusively next month.

Yakuza 7 (Shin Yakuza) New Details Revealed, Dev Discusses Possibilities For Yakuza 0 Sequel

During a recently held Yakuza event at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California, series producer Daisuke Sato spoke a little bit about the future of the franchise, and in addition to speaking about the currently in development code-named Shin Yakuza, as well as the possibility of a direct sequel to last year’s Yakuza 0.

Sato mentioned that Yakuza 0 is as well loved within the development team over at Sega as much as it is by the fans of the game, and as such, the team has often bounced around ideas of possibly making a Yakuza 0-2, a game that would be set between Yakuza 0 and the first game in the series. Such a project, though, is not in development right now, as per Sato, nor are there any plans to work on it in the near future.

What is being worked on right now is a game that has been given the code-name Shin Yakuza (which was already revealed in 2017), and Sato gave plenty of interesting details on that particular project. The game will take players to new locations and will be set after Yakuza 6, and might see the return of several characters from past games. Since Yakuza 6 was series protagonist Kiryu’s last game, though, Shin Yakuza will feature a new protagonist in Ichiban Kasuga.

Sato also went on to speak about how Kasuga will be different as a protagonist than Kiryu. For one, he will be a much more emotive and outspoken character than Kiryu was. Also, when Kasuga’s story begins, he will have no money, power, friends, or support, and the game will show how he rises from that.

It definitely sounds interesting, so here’s hoping Sega will announce some more concrete details on the game soon. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.

Yakuza Studio Working On New IP For Consoles

Yakuza 6 is out, and concludes Kiryu’s story, while the upcoming Yakuza Kiwami 2 will conclude the remake series for the franchise. We already have a Kiryu-less new Yakuza game announced. And in addition to all of this, the Yakuza studio is also already at work on a brand new IP that it will launch for consoles.

Speaking to Famitsu, Sega Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi confirmed that the studio has already begun work on a brand new franchise, noting that this new game will hit consoles- though, given Sega’s definition of the term, that could mean anything from coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or all three, or any combination in between.

Whatever it is, hopefully it is revealed soon. Yakuza is, after all, absolutely awesome, and I can’t wait to see what the studio will try its hands on next. Meanwhile, Yakuza 6 is available now on PS4 exclusively, so go get that.

Yakuza 6 Mega Guide: Leveling Up And Skills, Clan Creator, Codes, Baseball, And More

Yakuza 6 is the latest entry into the Yakuza series but it’s also the conclusion to the story of Kazuma Kiryu. This time around, we see Kiryu going to prison for 3 years and then returning to the world outside. As with all Yakuza games, this one promises its share of over-the-top craziness, but there’s also an engaging story that is told through this game. The game features a huge open world with lots of activities to participate in, mini-games to play, and secrets to find. So if you’re looking for some information about how things work in this game, then look no further because this guide is here to help you out!

GENERAL TIPS AND TRICKS

Explore the wide open world

This game features a bustling and large open world for you to explore. Make sure you see as much of the world as you can. More than many other open world games, Yakuza games are known for the many activities that are available for you to try out in the game. These can be really fun and they also offer good EXP and rewards. It’s also a great way to come across various side missions in the game.

Learn how the combat works

One of the main aspects of a Yakuza game is the brutal hand-to-hand combat you’ll have to engage in, so make sure you get the hang of how it all works. The basics are as follows: press square for a light attack, triangle for a heavy attack, and you can press circle to grab an enemy. There is also a heat gauge in the game represented by 3 orbs. As you attack enemies, the heat gauge slowly fills up and allows you to trigger heat mode which provides a boost to your combat abilities.

Complete the main missions

Not only is the story in this game a good one, but it’s also the best way to get familiarized with the game’s world. These offer a lot of EXP and great rewards overall so make sure you go back and do the main missions whenever you’re feeling stuck at any point.

Complete the side missions

Side missions are a great way to learn more about the game’s world. These quests can also be quite memorable, and they also offer a lot of EXP and some good rewards. Doing side missions is also a good way to explore more of the world around you.

ALL SAFES AND KEYS LOCATION

There are 10 different safes to find in the game with each of them holding some precious items. The keys and safes are found quite close to each other, and listed below are the locations of keys and safes in Kamurocho.

  • Can be found inside POPPO. Safe holds High-tech In-soles, can be found in parking lot.
  • In the building where you play the Mah-Jong mini-game, you can find the next key. Safe holds the Rusted Chain Mall, and can be found at the top of the building.
  • Next key can be found on stairs to the north side. Safe holding Experience Book can be found at the top of the building.
  • In Tenkaichi St., there is a building with a red carpet. The key is on the staircase, while the safe holding Steel Underwear can be found at the top of the building.
  • You can find the next key is at the entrance of the SPUNKY building. Safe holding Hungry Belt will be found in the office on the second floor.

The following are the locations of the keys and safes in the Onomichi region.

  • You will find a key at the docks. The safe holds Fearless Binding.
  • Next key can be found on the path to the hill on E National Route 2. Safe holds Blood-Stained Binding.
  • Next key is opposite where you found the previous key, i.e. on the other side of E National Route 2. You can find the safe in the garage below and it holds Love Protection charm.
  • Head west from where you found the previous key and you will find a key on the first floor. The safe can be found nearby, just after the narrow crossing, and it holds the Bloody Fundoshi.
  • You can find a key at the top of a building between W National Route 2 and Jingai Main Street. The safe holds the Stamina Belt.

HOW TO LEVEL UP AND EARN NEW SKILLS

As you may know from other RPGs, you can earn EXP and then level up your character. As your character gains more EXP, he gets stronger and will also be able to unlock new abilities. In Yakuza 6, you earn experience in any one category from the following: Strength, Agility, Spirit, Technique, and Charm. Doing a particular activity will net you EXP in the corresponding category. For example, fighting thugs will net you Strength EXP among other things.

There are a number of ways to earn EXP in the game including completing main story missions, side missions, and just exploring the open world. Make use of the Troublr app on your phone through which you can various tasks to do. Eating food items also grants you a decent amount of EXP. Also try and earn awards (these work like achievements but are not achievements) as these grant you a sizable amount of EXP as well.

Once you’ve earned enough EXP, the next thing to do is to spend this EXP so as to level up your character’s stats and abilities. There are different categories you can spend your EXP on, which are as follows:

  • Battle Skills: These are some combat moves and techniques that can be unlocked and they can be very powerful apart from also looking really cool.
  • Heat Actions: These refer to the special actions Kiryu can use when the heat gauge fills up.
  • Stats: These are your basic stats like Health, Evasion, and others. It’s always a good idea to spend some EXP on leveling up your stats.
  • Other Skills: These refer to various other miscellaneous skills like the ability to earn more EXP

In general, make sure you level up your basic stats first as these are always going to be useful. Next, focus on boosting how much EXP you earn, and try to balance the EXP you gain across different categories. Make sure you spend on Battle Skills as these will make your character much stronger. Given the many times you’ll be engaged in combat, spending EXP on Battle Skills will never go to waste. Finally, although Heat Actions are special moves, they can be used fairly often since the heat gauge doesn’t take too long to fill up. So make sure you spend some EXP on Heat Actions as well. You can spend the rest of your EXP based on the kind of activities you’re interested in, so don’t be afraid to experiment a bit.

CLAN CREATOR AND CLAN CODES

An interesting mini-game in Yakuza 6 tasks you with building up your clan with four types of units: Brawlers, Gunners, Heavies, and Rushers. You can recruit members for a clan by getting a unique code for each member. You can engage with various clans in battle and you’ll have to deploy your units out into battle. The aim is to basically defeat as many enemies as possible. There is a hierarchy present and leaders will lead other soldiers such as Brawlers and Gunners into battle. Leaders also have some special skills which can aid you in battle. Pay attention to your Deployment Points (DP Gauge) as it decreases every time you deploy a soldier. Defeating enemy soldiers and leaders will result in an increase in your DP gauge.

Leaders affect the strength of their Captains while their own strength depends upon the soldiers they are leading. HOW TO CHANGE TIME OF DAY (DAY OR NIGHT)

In Yakuza 6, there are many missions which require you to do them at a particular time of day. Unfortunately, you don’t get the ability to change the time of day early on in the game. In fact, you only gain this ability by the final 13th chapter of the game. Once you reach this chapter, you’ll be able to change the time in both Kamurocho and Onomichi.

To change the time in Kamurocho, just go to New Serena bar and then you’ll see a blue arrow on your mini-map. Just go up to the door and select the option ‘Rest Until’ and you’ll be able to choose how many hours you want to pass in the game’s world.

In Onomichi, it works the same way in Kiryu’s Crash Pad, the Old Navy Apartments. Similar to how it worked in the New Serena bar, just go up to the door where you see the blue arrow and then select ‘Rest Until.’

HOW TO TRAVEL FROM ONOMICHI TO KAMUROCHO AND VICE VERSA

Just like with the ability to change time, your options when it comes to travelling between these two cities is quite limited. This may be worrying for those of you who have left some side missions incomplete in a particular city. However, by the end of the game, i.e. at the very last chapter, you gain the ability to hail a cab so as to travel between these two cities. You can do this just before the final events of the story. But keep in mind that this option isn’t available prior to the 13th chapter.
